Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is a National Day of Service to honor Dr. King's commitment and contributions to the Civil Rights Movement and social justice. Join the Center for Civic Engagement and people across the nation on as we serve our local community in Dr. King's memory.

Why We Serve

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is 'What are you doing for others?'"
Each year, Americans across the country answer that question by coming together on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day to serve their neighbors and communities.
The MLK Jr. Day of Service is a part of United We Serve, the national call to service initiative. It calls for Americans from all walks of life to work together to provide solutions to our most pressing national problems.

2024 Project

Our 2024 project will be with Project XV Voting Rights Museum. Volunteers will be helping prepare exhibit content fixtures, removing old content, and painting to help keep them on track to open to the public in April. RSVP today to volunteer. Transportation will be provided for those in need.
