Make a child's wish come true during the holiday season. The Holiday Helper program annually provides gifts and parties for hundreds of children in the local community.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored a child this year! ALL of the children in our program now have sponsors!
For those who sponsored, please return your unwrapped gifts to the Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning as soon as possible. We will begin wrapping, organizing, and distributing the gifts to our partner agencies on December 2.
All volunteer spots are now full for gift wrapping and organizing, but you can still register to help us with our holiday parties!
Holiday Helper Parties are held to interact with children in the community and to distribute the gifts collected through Holiday Helper. Parties will take place December 4 to 7 and will be held at four local community agencies in Bloomington-Normal: Boys and Girls Club, Center for Youth and Family Solutions, UNITY Community Center, and Western Avenue Community Center.
The Holiday Helper Parties are planned by Debbie Shelden and the "Family, Professional, and Community Collaboration" class through the College of Education, but volunteers are needed to help facilitate party activities. Please register to volunteer. Space is limited, but we do still need volunteers for all four parties.
