Make a child's wish come true during the holiday season. The Holiday Helper program annually provides gifts and parties for over 250 children in the local community.
Volunteers can choose one or multiple children from one of our four partner local agencies and purchase gifts based on that child's top three wants and needs (valuing approximately $50). Unwrapped gifts are returned to the Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning in late November and then they will be wrapped and given to the children.
Sponsorship will open through a new online system on November 1.
Wrap and Pack
Once we have all of the gifts, we need to wrap them and pack them to be delivered to the community partners!
Wrapping will take place:
Dec. 2, 3 to 5:15 p.m.
Dec. 3, 3 to 5:15 p.m.
Dec. 3, 5:15 to 7:30 p.m.
Volunteer registration for the wrapping events will open in late October.
Holiday Helper Parties
Holiday Helper Parties are held to interact with children in the community and to distribute the gifts collected through Holiday Helper. Parties will take place December 4 to 7 and will be held at four local community agencies in Bloomington-Normal: Boys and Girls Club, Center for Youth and Family Solutions, UNITY Community Center, and Western Avenue Community Center.
Registration for volunteer opportunities at the parties will be available in late October.
